| These
rare predecessors of the seltzer bottle are very difficult to find. The
earliest examples were originally made in Paris. The double sphere-shaped
seltzogene was the later replacement for the less reliable gasogene. Note the decorative porcelain base. The smaller seltzogenes were ideally suited for picnics and traveling. The "spirit case" or tantalus came in either single, double, or triple bottle variants. |
