INVENTORY HIGHLIGHTS
A cast iron fireplace from 1880 is the focal point of the sitting room. The illusion of a fire is created using a rotating cylinder lit with a red bulb. Note the bearskin rug and gasogene complemented by a buffet lamp. The velvet arm chair matches one used in the Paget
illustrations. A pipe rack and Watson's
military helmet and boots stand at the ready.
  • BEARSKIN RUG (PRIO)
  • COAL SCUTTLE "Keeps his cigars in a coal
    scuttle"
    (MUSG)
  • FIREPLACE TOOLS "He [Dr. Roylett] seized
the poker, and bent it into a curve"
    (SPEC)
  • VELVET LINED ARMCHAIR (SIGN)
