My 1880 walnut desk is complimented by its attached book-case. Books, periodicals and items related to the Canon are also displayed in the case. Note that a rare pocket lantern keeps company with a dark lantern. On the floor, a battered dispatch box reveals its contents of bundled papers. In the disarray can be found file books and bound copies of the Strand. To the side of the door hang capes, hats and an unusual memento from Watson's campaign days, a "fly whisk."
