Due to the combustible elements to be found here, temperamental experiments could be quickly dashed into either the fireplace or out
the window. The corner has been arranged to suggest an experiment in progress. Instead of chemicals, the specimen bottles contain colored sand and flour. A collection of butterflies suggest the Victorian love for nature and were, perhaps, a gift from Sir Henry Baskerville.
